The Swedish Migration Board presented its Activity and Expenditure Forecast. There, they expect that the number of new asylum applications amounts to 122,000 in the 2018-2021 period followed by 181,000 new family immigrants. A total of 300,000 expected new migrants.

forecast also claims that a total of 411,000 citizenship cases are expected to be settled during the period.
According to Statistics Sweden , 68,889 people from more than 160 countries became new Swedish citizens last year, which is an increase of 14 percent compared with the previous record record of 2016.
The most common persons to receive Swedish citizenship are Somalis and stateless citizens of Sweden.
