Last weekend in Sweden: More then 40 cars set on fire at Västerås and Uppsala

In Uppsala, dozens of cars were set on fire in a couple areas. The first fire was lit on Salama’s hill  where two cars were set on fire, Fire spread to near cars. When this was extinguished, a new fire  Flames was obtained in Stenhain where Molotov cocktails were thrown in a car.

Gustavsberg and Helsingborg’s youth set on fire cars as a solidarity with there friend in Uppsala, wile Västerås didn’t stay behind with 13 cars on fire.

“Within only one hour, thirteen cars where set on fire at different locations in Västerås.”

This is how it sounds from the Västerå Police incident report on the fires of the night.

The first alarm came at 3:50 when a witness saw two cars burning on Gjutjärngatan in Bäckby. These fires were extinguished by the rescue service.

Then, at 04:14, one of the police patrols detects a car fire on Jonas Wenströms street as the patrol himself succeeds with powder lighter to rescue the car.

At 4:32 pm a witness responded to a big noise and it turns out later that three cars are burning behind the Emaus school.

Around 5 o’clock, new alarms about two cars that burn on Metallverksgatan at a house wall and there a third car is also injured. At the same time, four cars burn on a parking on Apalbyvägen.

“It is easy to suspect that they have a connection, but at the moment we have no suspects,” says Jonas Lindgren at the police region Mitt.
