At 22:30 on Monday the police were alerted to a car fire at Rolfsgatan in Malmo. There were 2 cars on fire and the police classified the event as fire damage.

An hour before this a school was set on fire.
At 23:19 the police were summoned to Blakullagatan in Helsingborg.
“Police were called to the scene as 2 cars were ablaze. The fire was contained and extinguished and the police made a report of damage by fire to the 2 vehicles. At this stage no one has been arrested” say the police.

At 02:41 another call to the police came in – a car had been set on fire at Drottninghog in Helsingborg.
The police state ” A Mini-Bus has been found on fire in a parking lot at Blakullagatan. No persons are reported injured ” . The police confirmed an incident report had been made of the fire.
In Uppsala Police responded to 3 car fires during the night. The car fires were deliberate say the police although “no arrests have been made at this stage”
In the Stockholm suburb of Skarholmen police reported 6 cars being on fire. Reportedly – “1 car was set on fire and the fire then spread to 5 other cars parked nearby” said Tobias Akesson , commanding officer at Storstockholm fire department, to SVT.
At this stage cannot confirm if there is a connection between the fires on the West Coast and the fires in the rest of Sweden.
