The pensioner took a walk on August 10, 2018 with her son on Skånegatan in Stockholm. Suddenly, the Arab man, whom we can call Ahmed, showed up and wiped the gold chains from around her neck. This he did with such force that the 91-year-old fell to the ground.
The son ran after the robber toward Vitaberg Park, but the man dropped out of sight.
The 91-year-old woman suffered a brain injury, fracture to her right hand and wound injuries on the elbows, left hand and back. The wound on the back was sewn with eight stitches.
When he had been identified and arrested afterwards, Ahmed was identified when he was photographed by the police.
Ahmed sought asylum in Sweden in February 2017. He then stated that he was born in May 2001 and originally from Gaza. However, when checking Ahmed’s fingerprints, he found that he applied for asylum in Austria on October 31, 2015, and in Denmark on February 8, 2017. In Austria, the fingerprints have been assigned to a person named Hassan Rikfi, born January 1, 1998 and a citizen in Morocco, and in Denmark a person named Mostafa Lobya, born March 3, 2002 and a citizen of Syria.
Ahmed stated during the trial that he was born on March 3, 2002 and that he is from Gaza.
The National Board of Medicines has conducted a medical age assessment. The results of the studies – dental x-ray and femoral x-ray – showed that Ahmed is an adult.
The Stockholm District Court is of the opinion that it is most likely that Ahmed at the time of the act was over 20 years. He is sentenced to 10 months in prison for robbery and will be expelled to Morocco. However, in five years he is welcome to return to Sweden, according to the judgment.
