In Helsingborg at the end of July, several demonstrations were held, which have been reported to police because several speakers have made anti-Semitic statements. It states Sweden’s Radio .
During one of the demonstrations, organized in protest against Israel closing off the Aqsa Mosque at the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, a speaker pronounced anti-Semitic.
The man who spoke spoke a number where he called Jews for the offspring of apornas and pigs. The man is imam at a well-visited mosque in Helsingborg.
– What you are careful about the details of the speech. I do not remember all the details, because it was improvised. I had the roads past a demonstration, and the youngsters who recognized me said I had to keep a word, “says Samir El Refari, the emperor, to Sweden’s Radio.
According to the Imam, he held an improvised speech, and did not mean that all Jews are the offspring of monkeys and pigs without the criticisms being directed primarily against Israel. The Imam also believes that his speech is a natural response to Israel’s actions.
The Imam points out that in the Middle East there is a common expression calling Jews for the offspring of monkeys and pigs but for the purpose of extremist Israelis who occupied Palestine. Now the imam says he should be more careful about using the term in the future.
Salahuddin Baraket is imam at the Islamic Academy of Malmö and finds it serious that an imam at one of the most visited mosques in Helsingborg is expressed in this way.
“I think it is especially important for Imams and religious representatives to really assume its theological basis and values found in religion and not to be influenced by emotional and populist arguments,” says Salahuddin Barakat, to Sweden’s Radio.
